"Oleos" Hockey Club Movember a Big Success!
The team goal was to raise $1000.00, final tally was $1140.00 donated to Bruce Skilliter and the MOfficials.
Bruce's goal was $10,000, at last count he topped $25,000!
The MOfficials goal was $40,000, they topped $60,000!
Excellent effort by all involved, had some good laughs and raised some money for Men's health, both physical and mental, something that touches us all.

Missing Oleo Found in Antarctica!
After countless days of trekking through some of the wildest terrain known to man, an exhausted "Oleo" Neil MacAuley came upon the infamous missing "Oleo" Mike Bertrand. Mike has been happily training penguins for movies, ie "March of The Penguins" and "Madagasgar" for the past two years.
When the two met on the desolate ice MacAuley reputedly said "Mr Bertrand I presume".

A mere seven brave souls took to the ice Sunday night versus the league powerhouse Reef Wrecks. Despite a heroic effort by the Oleo squad, they were unable to overcome the shoddy goaltending of last string call up Regan "Redlight" Chell.
CBC's "Arctic Air" Debuts as Magnificent Seven Drop Nail Biter to Elks
Tuesday, January 10th, 2012
On a night when all Transwest employees were snuggled in their homes watching the much anticipated debut of "Arctic Air", seven brave lads showed up to battle the much hated ungulate squad.
Randy "The Mihialator" Mihiliwiecz led the way, with Ken Beavyn and Troy "G Man" Patterson banging rubber past a hapless Greg Merriman.
Kelly "Killer" Baschuk and Rod "Doc" Walker battled hard for every loose puck while the ageless Eddy Ward amazed at boht ends of the ice. Goalkeeper Ryan Cossette played fantastic, once again proving he is the best tender in the "Crusher" League. Unfortunately Defenceman Regan Chell stunk.

The two aforementioned Ontario products played a gutsy game but the overmatched "Oleos" dropped a close one to a motivated group of ungulates. Windsor, Ontario is the home of the late Bob Probert who was a feared enforcer for many years in the NHL, with the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Black Hawks. For more information on Windsor check this link http://www.citywindsor.ca/. Thunder Bay, Ontario is the home of the Staal brothers, Jordan, Eric and Mark who all currently play in the NHL. Oleos 8 Teachers 10
Despite the best efforts of a game Oleo squad, including the season debut of "Oleo" leader Mike "G" Lover Glover, the "Oleos" ended their four game winning streak with a hard fought loss to a scrappy "Teachers" Hockey Club.
The Mighty "Oleos" built up a 5 - 0 lead in the first period only to see it evaporate in the second when the "Teachers" mounted an incredible comeback lead by the voracious forechecking of Kelsey Ward and Natasha Ivanochko.

Oleos 8 ReefWrecks 6
On a a night where the Oleos only managed to dress six skaters, goalie Gary Parada was magic, turning wave after wave of Reef Wreck wristshots harmlessly aside. Parada's stunning performance in net spurred skaters Mihiliwiecz, Lowe, Norris, Ward, and Hardcastle to a stunning display of passing and positional play. The sixth man, R.J.Chell once again played like he had a baby grand piano firmly attatched to his rear end.

Costley Comes Alive With Five!
Sunday, November 21st, 2011
Oleos 9 Teacherz 6
Andrew Costley finally lived up to his pre season hype, potting five twine benders for the "Oleos" Sunday night at Mel Hegland Uniplex. The "Oleos" continue to roll, picking up their third win before Christmas for the first time in team history.
Rookie goalie Shawn Descoteaux turned in another sparkling performance boosting his record to 1 - 1.
Veteran winger Rod Walker did a great job keeping track of the pucks giving Costley much more time to focus on goal scoring. Walker's return to a more full time role this season has helped the younger forwards get a feel for what it takes to be an "Oleo". His stories of growing up in Winnipeg and playing on the outdoor rinks always fascinate his teammates.

DESCOTEAUX DEADLY IN DIFFICULT DEBUT
November 17th, 2011
Reef Wrecks 6 Oleos 1
Montreal native Shawn Descoteaux made his first appearance in net for the "Oleos" Thursday night at the Mel Hegland Uniplex. Despite not having played in two years and having to borrow equipment, Shawn impressed both teams with his cat-like relexes.
Said "Reef Wrecks" forward Kevin Radloff, "He looks a lot like the other relief goalie, Regan Chell, only younger, skinnier and about a million times better!"
Chell declined to respond to Radloff's comments.
The "Oleos" came out with one of their best efforts of the season keeping the score at 3 - 1 until the final minutes when the speedy legs of "Reef Wrecks" youngsters Roger Schooley, Rod Spooner and Jay Elliot gave them the advantage.

Oleos 2 Reef Wrecks 8
The "Oleos" have finally put together a line that strikes fear into the hearts of opposing players throughout the league. Kris Norris, Cory "Hardcase" Hardcastle and Randy "Murder" Mihiliwiecz have found some chemistry
and on a night when the "Oleos" didn't have a whole lot to cheer about, this line potted both goals for the "Winged Wheels".
Players pictured left are not Norris, Mihiliwiecz, and Hardcastle. Instead

Oleos 9 Crushers 9
As the Cancer Society celebrated the first day of "Movember", a prostate cancer awareness campaign that involves men growing moustaches to raise money for prostate cancer research, "Oleos" forward Randy Mihiliwiecz potted the "Hat Trick" versus a game "Crusher" squad.
Versatile forward Jon "Sweet Hands" Proulx and veteran Ed "Fats" Ward each posted a pair in the "sister kisser" while Mike Lowe and Troy "G Man" Patterson added singeles.
The "Oleos" unbeaten streak is now stretched to a mind boggling TWO games. Obviously this is the "feel good" story of the league, with veterans Rod Walker, Randy Mihiliewiecz and now Cory Hardcastle returning to the fold and contributing in a major way to the "Oleos" unprecedented success.
Speedy utility man Wilfred Wallace has been more of a regular during this young season and his presence has been felt as well in the "Oleos" resurgence.
The "Oleos" next action is Thursday at 9:45.

ELKS TOUGH GUY MOCKS OLEOS
Wednesday, October 26th, 2011
Oleos 5 Elks 3
Dressed in their flashy white uniforms, the Elks openly mocked the Oleos Hockey Club during the pre game warm up Wednesday night at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.
Once the puck dropped it seemed the Elks were correct in their derision of the hapless Oleos. The first shift saw the Oleos turn the puck over twice and the opportunistic Elks capitalized and took the lead.
Slowly the Oleos fought their way back into the game lead by Randy "The Mihialator" Mihilawicz and Kris Norris. Mihilawicz hit the ice for the first time in two years and looked like he hadn't missed a beat. said Oleos defenceman Rob Pacey, "The guy could easily stickhandle in a phone booth"

Oleos Drop Another Close Game
Thursday, October 20th
Reef Wrecks 7 Oleos 3
42 years after seizing power in Libya, Colonel Muammar Ghaddafi was shot to death today in his hometown of Sirte.
Oleos goaltender Ryan Cossette was unable to go tonight, so third stringer Regan Chell was pressed into action. Chell turned in another spectacular performance, but it wasn"t enough on a tough night for the Oleos.
Ex "Oleo of The Year" Rod "Doc"Walker had a pregame equipment malfunction, somehow misplacing shinpads and helmet. A fellow player offered up some spare gear, but Walker, in a very un Oleo like fashion made sport of the hygiene of said equipment. Finally the semi obsessive compulsive winger relented and used the filthy equipment so the game could proceed as scheduled.
Travis Peckham was by far the star of the game, not only did he play a fantastic game as always but he also came through with post game beverages courtesy of Ms.Emisch, one of the Oleos most dedicated fans.

Oleos 8 Crushers 9
For the first half of Sunday night's game, the "Oleos Hockey Club" paid homage to the season premiere of AMC's hit series "The Walking Dead". The "Oleos" shuffled, zombie-like through the first 20 or so minutes, allowing the newly formed "Crushers Hockey Club" to build up a substantial lead.
Then something incredible happened, the "Oleos" began to turn things around. Ken Bavine moved back to defence, and Steve "O" Proulx moved to forward. This seemed to give the fellas a spark and the game was on.
Rob Pacey, who was responsible for most of the scoring in the first two games, was fighting for the puck with "Crushers" tough guy Tony White when he was clipped with a high stick late in the game. The team immediately took up the mantra " Let's win this one for Robbie's tooth" and the excitement was ramped up even more. Unfortunately the "Oleos" fell a little short but the game was truly a classic end to end battle.
Coachs Comments: We tried running two centers with three pairs of wingers for the first part of the game but that didn't seem to be working, for whatever reason, so we reverted back to the tried and true "Oleo" method, of complete chaos which seemed to work splendidly!
